Introducing Sugarcane Toilet Paper: A Small Change That Makes a Big Difference

The powerhouse behind pioneering cleaning companies

At Foremost, we believe that the everyday choices we make can have a real impact. That belief is what led us to develop Sugarcane Toilet Paper — our most sustainable toilet paper yet.

It’s a simple product, but the thinking behind it is anything but small.

Why Sugarcane?

Sugarcane is grown around the world for its juice, which is used to make sugar and other products. Once that process is complete, a fibrous material called bagasse is left behind.

Traditionally, much of this material goes to waste.

We saw an opportunity to do something better.

By using sugarcane bagasse instead of trees, we’re able to create toilet paper that’s renewable, biodegradable, and far kinder to the planet — without compromising on quality or comfort.

How Sugarcane Compares

When it comes to sustainable toilet paper, not all options are created equal.

Compared to bamboo, which is often grown and harvested specifically for manufacturing, sugarcane is a byproduct.

That means we’re making use of existing materials rather than creating demand for new crops.

Compared to recycled paper, sugarcane has some surprising advantages.

Producing sugarcane toilet paper generates 54% less carbon emissions, even when transported over long distances.

Its shorter fibres also break down more easily, making it more drain-friendly.

Designed for Everyday Comfort

Sustainability shouldn’t come at the cost of comfort.

Sugarcane fibres are naturally short and soft, giving the paper a smooth, gentle feel that’s kind to skin.

It also dissolves quickly — in just four seconds — which helps prevent blockages and makes it safe for drains, septic systems, and the environment.

Lower Carbon, Less Waste

Sugarcane grows fast, reaching maturity in just 11 months, compared to the decades it takes for trees.

By using a byproduct of sugar production, we’re also helping reduce agricultural waste. Bagasse is often burned, releasing carbon into the atmosphere — giving it a second life helps lower that impact.

Rolling Towards Reforestation

Avoiding deforestation is only part of the story. We’re proud to partner with Treeapp to go one step further.

For every five boxes of sugarcane toilet paper sold, one tree is planted, supporting reforestation projects around the world. It’s a small step, but one that contributes to long-term change.

A Better Roll, All Round

Sugarcane Toilet Paper proves that everyday essentials can be both practical and sustainable.

It’s softer, lower carbon, and made with materials that would otherwise go to waste.

Sometimes, making a difference starts with the simplest swap.
