'Bio-degradeable' is NOT sustainable.

Bio-degradable plastic sacks are not actually 'bio-degradeable', they actually cause more damage to the environment than a regular LDPE sack that is disposed of in a responsible manner.

The plastic sack is a common sight as it has a lot of uses – however, the disposal of these things is not so straightforward.  A lot of sacks claim to be ‘biodegradable’, but in reality they’re actually ‘oxo-degradable’ which means that the plastic merely breaks down into small flakes.

So, these ‘biodegradable’ sacks are contributing to the world problem of microplastic pollution.

In addition to that, these sacks are also:

An environmental risk to soil and marine life
Not suitable for heavy or sharp waste
Not suitable for re-use
Not recyclable
Not compostable

In short and simple summary, these sacks are much more harmful to the environment than they are kind to it.

Tiaga - a truly sustainable solution

SHOP TIAGA SACKS

Tiaga is a range of sacks designed to have as little environmental impact as possible whilst retaining the performance of PE sacks.

They are made with 100% post-consumer recycled plastic and the clear versions contain a minimum of 90% recycled content.
The packaging for these sacks is made from 100% recycled paper pulp, which is saving our forests.
Tiaga sacks are packaged on rolls, and can be packed in smaller boxes, meaning less space required for delivery and storage, which cuts down the carbon footprint.
They are also supplied on tear-off rolls, which are easier to transport between sites, store on site and even share between cleaning staff.

Made with LDPE plastic

Made from one of the most recyclable plastics.
Our Tiaga black sacks are made with 100% post-consumer recycled LDPE plastic, while our clear sacks contain a minimum of 90% recycled content. Although it is not currently feasible to create 100% recycled clear PE plastic due to its complex production process, our clear sacks come as close to this goal as possible.

Recycled cardboard boxes

Recycled cardboard boxes.
Tiaga sacks come in cardboard boxes made from 100% recycled paper pulp - so no trees need to be cut down to package the goods.

Recycled cardboard boxes

Minimal transport emissions.
As of June 2023, all Tiaga sacks will be on rolls - minimising the transport CO2 footprint because the boxes can be smaller, so less space is required for your deliveries.
Tiaga sacks are shipped direct from the importer to the end-user site - minimising transport CO2 footprint by cutting down excess pallet transport network usage within the UK.

Neat storage solution

A neat storage solution.
Tear-off sacks on rolls are easier to transport between sites, store on site and share between cleaners.
